Policies & Procedures

To accomplish our purposes the following policies have been adopted:

1. CHECK IN:
At the desk in the preschool lobby area, the parent of birth through three year olds will be issued two security tags (one for the child to wear and the other for the adult to present for pick up). The number on the tag will also be used with the paging system in the sanctuary to contact the parent if he/she is needed for the child. The tags will be returned to the registration desk when the adult picks up the child.Drop-off for worship care and Sunday school begins no earlier than 15 minutes prior to each service. Please drop off babies through three year olds at the half door in the preschool lobby. Four and five year olds should be dropped off in their classrooms.
Please do not leave any child unattended in a room.

2. It is our responsibility to provide a safe and healthy environment and the best care possible for your child. In order to do this, we ask for your cooperation in the following matters:

Preschoolers, their parent, and approved adult teachers will be the only persons permitted in preschool classrooms.
Parents are discouraged from returning to a child?s classroom to check on their child. If you are concerned, please ask the preschool director or security monitor to check for you.
One parent should call for the child as soon as possible following the services, choir practice, or other church functions. Remember, preschool rooms are available 15 minutes before the scheduled service time and 15 minutes after the service concludes.
Parents should furnish all needed supplies: disposable diapers, bottles, etc. Please include a change of clothing for each preschooler, birth through age two.

3. Safety information

Parents are required to plainly label all items (diaper bag, bottles, pacifiers, change of clothing, etc.) belonging to a child. Personal toys should be left at home unless it is a child?s security item.
Preschool parents will be responsible for given written notification on any allergies or medical needs.
No food or drink will be served to babies and creepers except the milk, juice and crackers brought by the parent. (Rooms 202 and 204)
Fruit juice and crackers will be served to toddlers, twos and threes as needed. (Rooms 206, 207, and 203)

4. Our illness policy requires that:

A child shall not be accepted into a class if they have been ill during the previous 24 hours.
A child shall be fever free at least 24 hours prior to being placed in a preschool class.
Children shall not be accepted into a class if there are symptoms of the usual childhood diseases include the following but are not limited to: scarlet fever, measles, mumps, chicken pox, whooping cough or pink eye.
Children with skin infections shall not be allowed in a classroom with other children. These include but are not limited to impetigo, ringworm, and boils.

When in doubt apply the "Golden Rule." Your cooperation is essential too the well being of your child and other children at Cropwell Baptist Church.
We cannot administer medication. If your child becomes ill during a preschool session, we will contact you. If your child develops an infectious disease following a session, please notify the Preschool Office immediately.
